Jentopia's Contract

*The following is the contract for Jentopia Himalayans & Persians, by sending deposit and purchasing kitten from us, you are agreeing to adhere to the terms of this contract.  All deposits are non-refundable.*

Purchaser Agrees To The Following:

  1. Cat/Kitten must be kept isolated from any other household pets until cat/kitten has been seen and cleared by your vet.  Otherwise ALL Health guarantees given by seller are NULL and VOID, and no refund or replacement cat/kitten will be given.  If upon exam, cat/kitten is found to have an “incurable” life threatening disease, you may return said cat/kitten at no cost to seller, along with the veterinarian’s statement for a replacement of same quality, sex and color cat/kitten when one becomes available.  Stress can trigger minor health problems, including sneezing, runny eyes or nose and sometimes cause them to break with ringworm and does not constitute grounds for cancellation of this contract, these problems are not considered Life Threatening.  (NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN).

  1. If said cat/kitten is immunized for FIP, this contract becomes NULL and VOID.  We do not recommend the use of the FIP vaccine with any of our felines.  Clinical studies have shown that it can give them FIP, and this vaccine continues to be very controversial.

  1. If said cat/kitten is immunized for the Feline Leukemia Vaccine, in our experience, out of 4 cats vaccinated with the Fort Dodge Leukemia vaccine, 2 had severe reactions and had to be hospitalized.  If you decide to vaccinate with the Feline Leukemia Vaccine, Jentopia Cattery takes no responsibility as to what effect it may have on your new cat/kitten and your contract would then be NULL and Void.  Jentopia Cattery DOES give at least the first 2 vaccinations for the 3-way distemper and we only recommend the 3-way distemper vaccination and the rabies vaccine to be given by your vet to your new cat/kitten.

  1. Under NO Circumstances are any of our cats/kittens to be declawed.  It is inhumane and there are laws pending to make it illegal to declaw your cat.  The first digit or “knuckle” is actually removed in the process and it is a very painful experience.

  1. If said cat/kitten is sold as a PET, purchaser shall provide written proof from a licensed veterinarian that the kitten was neutered/spayed by the age of 8 months for females and 6-8 months for males.  I just like the cat/kitten to weigh at least 5 lbs to undergo the sedation.  CFA blue slips will be issued to buyer once proof from the veterinarian has been shown.

  1. Said cat/kitten is health guaranteed for one year after sale.  If said cat/kitten should die due to a congenital defect, the cat/kitten will be replaced with one of the same quality, color and sex when one becomes available, provided a licensed veterinarian’s written report (Necropsy) of cause of death is presented to the seller within 14 days of death.  NO CASH REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN.

  1. Purchaser will under no circumstances sell said cat/kitten to a pet store, research laboratory or similar facility.  Said cat/kitten must never be allowed to roam freely outside and it must be protected from any indoor hazards.  Cat/kitten must not be mistreated by dogs or any other animals owned by the buyer, or by the buyer themselves.  Cat/kitten cannot be resold without the written consent of the seller (Jennifer Malcolm), in which case new owner must be willing to sign contract with me, the breeder.

  1. Breeder has first right to refusal (at no cost to breeder), should the purchaser decide to sell said cat/kitten.  If Breeder should decide to take cat/kitten back, purchaser must have said cat/kitten Feline Leukemia and Feline Aids tested, plus have a stool sample examined to prove cat/kitten is free from any disease or internal parasites.  A written health certificate shall also be provided from purchaser’s Vet within 10 days of breeder taking possession of cat/kitten.

  1. In the case that buyer backs out of sale, due to no fault of the seller (Jennifer Malcolm), no monies will be refunded.  Purchaser will have the choice to return within 1 year of the date of the deposit being put down to pick another kitten of same quality and sex, should purchaser fail to pick another kitten within that time, then the breeder (Jennifer Malcolm) is no longer under any obligation to give purchaser a new kitten.

  1.   If the purchaser does not abide by the above conditions, stated in this contract, said cat/kitten will be reclaimed by Jennifer Malcolm at the cost of the purchaser, including all court costs and lawyer fees.  Any breech of contract needing court action will be done so in the breeder’s county of Allegheny and in the state of Pennsylvania.

  1.  I guarantee the pedigree of this cat/kitten to be accurate to the very best of my knowledge, any errors in information received from other catteries is beyond my responsibility.

  1.   Signature of the purchaser, indicates full agreement to all conditions and terms listed herein.
